This was a personal visit to PNG for me to reconnect with family from 30 odd years ago. We had a dinner in the restaurant and the staff on their own volition baked us a beautiful cake with icing that said Happy Reunion. That is simply amazing. The property is undergoing a full renovation (the rooms are tired but clean) but the views remain stunning and all the staff without exception are personable, attentive, happy and nothing is ever a problem. The breakfast buffet is superb, and the overall food experience is first class I would not even consider any other hotel in Port Moresby - its a home away from home

This is my home away from home. Security is very important and is first class at this hotel. The staff cannot be faulted. Great views, good food, comfortable beds. If there's a problem, the management sorts it out quickly. Nice gym, good location for walking, jogging but dont carry a phone or camera unless you are escorted by security. Walking distance to eateries next to the harbor, also a decent supermarket. The place is being upgraded which looks very well done.

They sang 'Happy Birthday', to Missus when I could not make it in time to GP from Porgera. They lit candles on the cake and surprised her when they sang - 1 male and 1 female voice. I paid I made suggestions and the staff then did the unexpected on my behalf and this is memorable and it is the true face of PNG.

The warm and friendly check in staff make you feel right at home, despite the slight wait time to check in their hospitality was very impressive unlike any other place in POM in which I truly appreciate. A gentleman named James was very chatty and accommodating in which made the wait time go by, before I knew it my room was ready. The room was very clean and the view was amazing, which was more than what we expected.

The staff, the food is always incredible, irrespective of what night, Asian night, seafood buffet, front desk always so accommodating, the one staff member that goes over and above his call of duty is Simeon, concierge, his friendly demeanor exceeds all expectations, he"s the one reason we always return to this Hotel, Grand Papua, thank you Simeon!
